Margaret's House is a registered non-profit residential centre based in Lansdowne, Cape Town and was established in 1987 by the initiative of five Anglican churches. It accommodates up to 16 children who are referred by children courts who is in need of care and protection.
The organisation provides residential care for children outside of the family environment. The residential programmes focus on providing developmental and therapeutic programmes for every child who enters the residential programme. All children attends local schools in the area or as far as possible we maintain the child at the school where the child come from.
The organisation has four bed spaces for independent living specifically for the children who are in the process to disembark the residential facility without the safety net of biological family. This programme focus on the older children 16yrs and older
In most instances our child and youth care professionals work with young people that originate from environments described as / classified as:

DYSFUNCTIONAL FAMILIES
ORPHAN CHILDREN
Our programmes are person centred aiming at reunification and reintegration. Children in our care must maintain communication with biological families. Due to the circumstance this is one of the biggest challenge due to various family dynamics.
